” Playing for the national team is a dream ” – In-form Montpellier forward Adams Akor says
In-form Montpellier forward, Adams Akor says playing for the national team is a dream for him just like every boy who grew up in his country.
Adams Akor had weeks earlier revealed his ambition of breaking into the Super Eagles team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
In his latest remarks, the Nigerian forward who scored four goals to make the French Ligue 1 team of the month of October 2023 said he has a dream of playing for the national team but that will wait as he has a bigger focus.
“I think the national team is the dream of every boy who grew up in his country and for me it’s also the same,” he said in a video published on Montpellier’s X handle.
” The AFCON is two months away but right now the games in Montpellier are my biggest focus, that would come when it comes and then we would see.”
Adams has scored seven goals this season for Montpellier who are placed 11th in the league table on 11 points after nine games.
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro may consider handing the former Flying Eagle a maiden call-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification games vs Lesotho and Zimbabwe with Napoli SSC striker, Victor Osimhen a doubt with injury.
