‘Pogba has to lead’ – Petit

Emmanuel Petit believes Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba should be more of a “leader” on the pitch.

The French international is regarded as one of the best young players in world football, but has come in for criticism in the early part of the season, after inheriting the Bianconeri number 10 shirt.

“Pogba needs to be a boss, a leader,” compatriot Petit, who won the World Cup in 1998 told Goal.

“He is already, but only in a soft manner. I think that he needs his team-mates to play well. He needs a team that is tactically balanced because when you are Paul Pogba, you have your way.

“He is one of those players who need freedom on the pitch. He needs to smell the game and use his flair.

“He needs to be able to move constantly without restrictions.”
