Potter Begs Chelsea Fans After Fulham Loss

Under-fire Chelsea Coach, Graham Potter has expressed his frustration after another defeat against Fulham on Thursday.

The visitors lost 2-1 to Fulham at the Craven Cottage thanks to goals from Willian Vinicius.

The Blues have now won just two out of their last 10 games in all competitions.

“It’s really frustrating and incredibly challenging. I feel for the supporters. We’re disappointed to lose tonight.

I thought it was a relatively even game in the first half and we had a couple of good chances. I think the basics we can do better in terms of our defending and some of our football actions.

“But at the same time, we get back in the game and then the red card…it’s where we’re at at the moment in terms of things that can happen to us.

New signing, Joao Felix was sent off in the second half, while Denis Zakaria limped off to compound Potter’s woes.

“We lost Denis beforehand as well and were just adjusting with Jorginho and then Joao – who was having a fantastic impact on the game and you could see his quality – to lose him and to lose him for three matches is really disappointing.”

Potter refused to blame Kepa for Fulham’s second goal.

“I never like to speak about individuals when we lose. I think the goal itself is a frustrating one from our perspective because I didn’t think they were putting us under too much pressure even though they had an extra man. So felt like a soft goal to concede and that is something we have to do better with.”

Chelsea will be back in Premier League duties at home against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
