Potter Hails Chelsea Players For Beating Dortmund
Chelsea coach, Graham Potter has showered encomiums on his players for their impressive performance against Dortmund in the Champions League.
The Blues produced a stunning performance at Stamford Bridge to beat Dortmund 2-0 to qualify for the Champions League last eight.
Raheem Sterling gave the hosts the lead just before halftime before Kai Havertz added the second goal in the second half.
He said: ‘I’m not sure [how I’m feeling]! There is a lot of emotion in the end. It was tense in the end but the boys played fantastic. I am delighted for them to get the win and great for everyone here.
‘There was a fantastic feeling in the dressing room. We have been through a tough period and this competition means a lot for us. We wanted to progress and get into the last eight and it sets us up for the next few weeks.
‘It is great for the boys, two wins, two clean sheets after a tough period. You get that in life and it is about how you respond and the players have been fantastic.’
Chelsea have now won their last two matches against Leeds and Dortmund without conceding a goal.
Potter had been tipped to get the sack following a run of two wins in 12 matches, but he appears to have turned it around.
Ngolo Kante and Christian Pulisic are back in action their return is expected to boost the performance of the team as they aim to end a poor season on a high.
Up next for Chelsea is a trip to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
