Precious Achiuwa Out with Hamstring Injury, Adding to Knicks’ Woes

The New York Knicks have been hit with another injury setback as Nigerian basketball star Precious Achiuwa is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Achiuwa’s injury comes at a tough time for the Knicks, who are already struggling with depth at the center position following Mitchell Robinson’s injury. Robinson is expected to be out until the new year, leaving the team short of options.

The Knicks will feel the absence of Achiuwa for a few weeks, possibly missing the season opener and the first few games. His injury leaves head coach Tom Thibodeau with no choice but to rely heavily on Jericho Sims to fill in as the backup center.

Speaking on Instagram Live with Afroballers, Achiuwa expressed optimism about his recovery. “We’ll come back better and stronger. It’s just a minor setback,” he said.

The Nigerian D’Tigers star remains positive about the Knicks’ season goals. “We still have the same agenda. We’re gonna come back a lot stronger… We have a goal to accomplish this year.”

With Achiuwa sidelined, he will miss the Knicks’ first game of the regular season against the Boston Celtics. The Knicks are now under pressure to find solutions to their thinning roster as they prepare for a challenging start to the season.
