Pregnant Ketlen Wiggers makes history training with Santos into eighth month

Santos Women striker Ketlen Wiggers has completed her final training sessions before welcoming her baby boy, Lucca, later in November.
The Brazilian forward, who is one of the club’s greatest-ever goalscorers, has made history by becoming the first female footballer in Brazil to continue training with her team through the eighth month of pregnancy.
Training safely with support
Under the careful supervision of Santos’ physical trainer Isabella Silva Matos, Ketlen adjusted her training routine to stay active while keeping herself and her baby safe.
“She joined the team for warm-ups, lower-body strength work, and passing drills,” Matos said. “Her shooting and finishing sessions were done separately to reduce risk.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Ketlen received huge support from the club staff, her teammates, and fans.
“The care they showed for me and Lucca during training was incredible,” Ketlen said. “I feel truly grateful and fulfilled by all the love and understanding I’ve received.”
Looking ahead
With Lucca’s arrival expected at the end of November, Ketlen already has her sights set on returning to football. She plans to rejoin Santos for the 2026 preseason.
Her story has inspired many across Brazil and beyond — a symbol of strength, dedication, and passion in women’s football.
Ketlen Wiggers truly proves that nothing is impossible when talent, determination, and heart come together.
