Premier League club eye January ove for Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan

Premier League club, Everton are reportedly looking to sign Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan during the January transfer window.

Chukwueze has found it hard to get regular playing time under Milan’s new manager, Paolo Fonseca. This season, the 24-year-old Nigerian forward has only made six appearances.

Despite his limited chances, Chukwueze made the most of a rare start by scoring his first league goal in a win over Udinese. He opened the scoring just 12 minutes into the match, beating his fellow Nigerian teammate, Maduka Okoye. With that win, Milan moved to fourth place in the Serie A standings, five points behind leaders Napoli.

Everton have been tracking Chukwueze for some time, believing his talent and pace can strengthen their squad. The club hopes to avoid another relegation battle and sees signing a winger like Chukwueze as a top priority.

However, financial demands could make the move tricky. Chukwueze joined Milan in 2023, and his transfer to the Premier League would require a significant investment. Fortunately, The Friedkin Group, currently in talks to buy a majority stake in Everton, is expected to provide funds for the deal.

Milan could be open to selling Chukwueze, not just because of his struggles on the pitch but also to balance their squad. Everton is also exploring other targets, including Santiago Castro, who plays in Serie A and could be another option if the Chukwueze deal doesn’t work out.

Everton, sitting in 16th place in the Premier League, hopes the addition of Chukwueze can help turn their season around. A player with his speed and creativity could be key in their fight for better results in the second half of the season.
