PSG and Al Ahli eye Ademola Lookman amid Atalanta’s firm stance

Ademola Lookman, Atalanta’s Nigerian forward, finds himself at the center of a major transfer saga as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli express strong interest in securing his services this summer. Atalanta, however, is holding firm on their asking price for the Super Eagles star.

Lookman has been a standout performer for both Nigeria and Atalanta, playing a crucial role in La Dea’s historic Europa League triumph, where he scored a hat-trick in the final. His impressive performances have caught the attention of PSG, who are reportedly eager to sign him.

PSG has offered Lookman a lucrative contract worth €4.5 million per season, more than double his current salary of €1.8 million at Atalanta. This significant pay rise has made the move highly tempting for the Nigerian international. However, PSG’s approach has irritated Atalanta, as they have not initiated negotiations with the club and instead went directly to the player.

Atalanta is reluctant to part with Lookman, especially given the late stage of the transfer window and the challenge of finding a suitable replacement. The Serie A club has set a firm asking price of €40 million for the forward.

Lookman, influenced by PSG’s offer, has reportedly requested to be excluded from Atalanta’s squad for their Serie A match against Lecce. Atalanta is facing a tough situation as they struggle to keep hold of key players, including Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, who is also attracting interest from Juventus.

With the transfer window set to close in 12 days, the pressure is mounting on all parties involved. Atalanta is determined to hold their ground unless their asking price is met, while PSG and Al Ahli must decide whether to meet the €40 million valuation to secure Lookman’s signature.

Lookman’s potential move to PSG or Al Ahli could significantly impact Atalanta’s season, as they aim to build on their recent successes. For now, all eyes remain on the Nigerian forward and the unfolding drama as the transfer deadline approaches.
