PSL has never seen a defender like Ndah – Pirate coach, Ncikazi
Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi has waxed lyrical about Nigerian defender Olisah Ndah.
Mandla Ncikazi said the South African Premier Division (PSL) has never had a player Olisah Ndah.
Olisah Ndah joined the South African giants Orlando Pirates in 2021 from Akwa United shortly after winning the Nigeria Professional Football League with the Promise Keepers.
Since his move to South Africa he has featured for Super Eagles twice with the latest been at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
“I thought the whole defence played well,” Ncikazi said at the post match press conference after their 2-0 CAF Confederation Cup win over JS Saoura on Sunday.
“Ndah is a top defender. For somebody who just came into the PSL, normally, defenders does not understand the South African game on arrival, they need time, but for him to adjust this quickly…
“But I also thought Happy contributed well. His leadership was very important.
“Mako, I thought he was excellent playing the role that he’s playing.
“I thought the defending, defenders and defending was one exceptional game that we presented today.”
