Quadri books third consecutive Olympics appearance

Africa's number 1 player qualified through World rankings

Nigeria and Africa’s top-ranked Table tennis star Aruna Quadri has been confirmed as one of the qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics billed to hold later this year by virtue of his World ranking at the start of this month.

The 33-year old Nigerian native will join countrymen Olajide Omotayo, Olufunke Oshonaike and Edem Offiong in the singles event at the Olympics. Quadri, ranked 27th in the world, previously represented Nigeria at both the 2012 and 2016 editions of the Olympics.

Quadri failed to qualify through several qualifying events, but it was confirmed by the ITTF that he had qualified through one of the spots set aside for top ranked players.
