Rafa Benítez knows nothing about football – Marco Materazzi

Marco Materazzi has hit out at Rafa Benítez, whom he played under at Inter Milan. It is common knowledge that player and coach have always had a somewhat tense relationship.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, when asked what had changed at Napoli this season compared with last, the former Italy international replied: “Are Napoli winning and playing entertaining football? That’s because they have a coach now”.

The Italian newspaper reporter asked, “and Benítez wasn’t”? Materazzi responded: “I watched ‘el Clásico’ on Saturday and I felt like Cristiano Ronaldo, Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Paolo Cannavaro. Those are all players who did not like playing under him”.
