Rafael Everton open to Nigeria return
Speaks on link to vacant El Kanemi Warriors job
Following links to the vacant El Kanemi Warriors job, Brazillian manager Rafael Everton has said he is open to a managerial return to Nigeria.
Multiple reports on social media on Thursday February 23 linked the 34-year old former Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Akwa United FC and Vandrezzer FC manager to El Kanemi Warriors.
In a chat with SportsRation on Thursday evening, Rafael Everton who led Ifeanyi Ubah FC to Federation Cup success in 2016 said he has only read of the link on social media.
” I just read of the story on social media. Nobody has contacted me about the job. ” Everton explained.
When asked about his response if an offer arrives from a Nigerian club, Everton revealed he will take a job from Nigeria and went further to list a condition that will push him back to Africa.
” Yes I will work again in Nigeria but it must be a special project. ” the Recife born manager said.
Rafael Everton’s last job in Nigeria was at Nigeria National League club Vandrezzer FC.
Upon formation in 2019, Vandrezzer FC appointed the Brazilian as it’s first Head Coach.
In 2021, both parties decided to part ways with Everton returning to his native Brazil where he has been taking refresher courses and preparing for his next move.
