Rangers beat Kwara in Ilorin to topple MFM FC in group A despite playing three games less

Rangers International of Enugu beat Kwara United 2-1 in Ilorin in their rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League game played on Wednesday to toppled MFM FC in group A.

Goals from Ifeanyi George and Godwin Aguda ensured Ebenezer Odeyemi goal was just a consolation for Kwara United as Rangers to go top of group A despite playing three games less than their rivals.

For the first goal Ifeanyi George directed a ball past Flying Eagles goalie Olawale Oremade after a good delivery from Chiamaka Madu found him.

Just three minutes after the first, it became two in the 28th minute, this time, Godwin Aguda pounced on a shambolic pass from Akinmoladun to fire past Oremade.

Ebenezer Odeyemi capitalised on a defensive error to head home in the 65th minute to give the home time a lifeline.

The win take Rangers to the top log in group with 24 points despite playing three games less, MFM with 23 points, and Enyimba with 21 points.
