This move comes in response to the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) 2021 mandate requiring clubs participating in men’s continental competitions to also support women’s teams to boost the development of the women’s game.
In a statement, Rangers International expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to foster talent among young female footballers in Enugu.
“We are glad to announce an exciting new technical partnership between Rangers International FC Enugu and Green Foot Ladies Enugu,” the statement began.
“Through this collaboration, Rangers International FC will provide comprehensive support to Green Foot Ladies to foster the growth and development of women’s football in our community.
“This partnership underscores our commitment to promoting inclusivity, excellence, and opportunity in the sport we love. Together, we aim to nurture talent, enhance skills, and elevate the profile of women’s football in Enugu and beyond.”
Rangers International also emphasized the broader benefits of the partnership, which aims to provide exposure and development opportunities for emerging female football talents in the state.
“Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this promising journey together!” the statement concluded
