Rangers file two-page petition to CAF against Zamalek

Champions of The Nigeria Professional Football League Enugu Rangers filed a two-page petition against Zamalek for fielding an ineligible player, Paulo Hossam Salama.
Paulo Salam who recently joined Zamalek was registered for the CAF Champions league on the 30-01-2017 which was after the due CAF deadline, dated, 15-01-2017.
According to CAF rules, Paulo is not eligible to play in the CAF Champions League, not until the group stages.
The protest letter was made available to journalists by the spokesman of the team, Foster Chime, signed by Rangers secretary, Joseph Onwukwe.
Rangers in their petition maintained that Paulo was removed two weeks after deadline from Sporting Club Smouha list. Which is a breach of Article V. Paragraph 3(a) and 4 of CAF Champions League rules and regulations.
The letter has been sent to Secretary General, Confederation of African Football, through the General Secretary, Nigeria Football Federation, Abuja.
The Management further stressed that the provisions of the CAF Champions league regulations are very clear and concise, stressing that Zamalek SC of Egypt should be punished for fielding  Paulo Hossan Salama.
Paulo scored the second goal for Zamalek in their 4-1 victory over Rangers.
The Flying Antelopes will on Sunday host Zamalek SC will, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32.
