Rangers Vs Abia Warriors: Imama Amapakabo not worried about history
Abia Warriors’ Technical Adviser, Imama Amapakabo, remains calm as his team gets ready to face league champions Rangers International at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Abia Warriors will take on the Flying Antelopes in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday five clash at The Cathedral. The game has drawn attention because Amapakabo, who once coached Rangers to win the league in 2016, will now compete against his former team.
Speaking to Abia Warriors Media, Amapakabo said he isn’t focused on the past but is determined to complete the task ahead. “I’m not worried about history. This is a job that needs to be done. Rangers are coming off a win against Bayelsa United, so they are confident. But each game is different,” he said.
Amapakabo added, “We’ve worked hard and secured a victory recently. Now, we’re going to Enugu to fight for the three points. I believe it will be an exciting game.”
The coach emphasized his focus on winning, saying, “We lost three points at home, and we need to recover them somewhere. The players have worked hard, and I always play to win. Rangers are the defending champions, and we respect that, but we’re going to play our game without fear.”
