Real Madrid faced Spanish Segunda B side, CD Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey Round of 32 on Wednesday, and they lost 2-1 to the team places fourth in the Segunda B after extra time.
Real Madrid took the lead in the 45th minute through Brazilian defender, Eder Militao, but Alcoyano were not to be moved and they found a late equaliser in the 80th minute through Jose Solbes to force extra time. In extra time, part time footballer, Juanan scored what might be the biggest goal of his football career in the 115th minute to send Alcoyano to the Copa del Rey Round of 16, and ensure that Zinedine Zidane still waits for his first ever Copa del Rey title as Real Madrid manager. Alcoyano’s 41 year old goalkeeper, Jose Juan Figueras was their hero on the night as he made 10 saves to keep his side in the game.
