Real Madrid’s midfield Bellingham sidelined for a month due to injury

Real Madrid have been dealt a major blow as star midfielder Jude Bellingham is set to miss about a month of action due to a plantar fasciitis injury in his right leg.

The injury was confirmed by Real Madrid’s medical team following a series of tests, revealing damage to the plantar thin muscle, a condition that typically requires careful management.

The club released an official statement saying, “Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantar thin muscle of his right leg. Pending evolution.”

This injury comes at a time for Real Madrid, who rely heavily on Bellingham’s dynamism and creativity in the midfield.

Since his high-profile move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, the 21-year-old has become an integral part of the team.

His 23 goals and 14 assists across 44 appearances last season were vital in securing both La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles for Los Blancos.

Bellingham’s absence will be felt deeply, especially after his impressive performance in the recent La Liga opener against Real Mallorca, where he played 87 minutes before being substituted due to the injury.

That match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Real Madrid struggling to find their rhythm in the final minutes without their midfield maestro.

With the international break in September 2024 on the horizon, Bellingham’s return is expected shortly after, giving the team hope that he will be back to full fitness as they continue their campaign in both domestic and European competitions.
