‘Rebuilding’ – Fidelis Ilechukwu reveals Rangers Int’l focus in pre-season
Head coach of Rangers International FC, Fidelis Ilechukwu is focusing on rebuilding his team ahead of the 2024/2025 football season.
Ilechukwu, who led his team to victory in the 2024 NPFL title, plans to use the 042 Coal City International Cup as a starting point for this process.
The pre-season tournament will feature teams from Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Brazil, and top NPFL teams, competing for a grand prize of fifty million naira. Each team will receive an appearance fee of five million naira per match.

Fidelis Ilechukwu commented, “It is a good thing to have such quality teams in a preseason tournament, and it will help us to a very large extent monitor the players we have registered for both continental and domestic challenges.”
He added, “We are rebuilding because the structure we had earlier set up has been shaken a bit, and we have some new talents that need to be integrated into our playing philosophy. I believe that we will get good results from the preseason games.”
Rangers International will kick off their continental campaign in mid-August 2024 with a preliminary round fixture against Comoros Islands side, U.S. Zilimadjou.
