Remo Stars coach names one way former Super Eagles stars can help NPFL to grow
Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede has made a passionate plea to former Super Eagles players, encouraging them to embark on coaching careers to help elevate the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
Ogunmodede has garnered recognition for his remarkable work with Remo Stars, leading the club to a title challenge in the previous season. Despite his success, he believes that the NPFL needs more experienced hands to reach its full potential.
In an interview with Brilla, Ogunmodede emphasised the importance of having former Super Eagles players contribute to the development of Nigerian football through coaching. He stated, “I will be extremely happy. Imagine we have a Finidi, an Oliseh, and an Amuneke. Our league will also be the talk of the continent.”
He further elaborated, “It’s important to have these experienced individuals contribute to our football development. They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise that can significantly improve the standard of the league.”
Ogunmodede, also known as ‘IJABALL’, highlighted the need for better pay for coaches in the NPFL. He believes that increasing salaries will attract and retain more qualified and experienced coaches, which is essential for the league’s growth and improvement.
After coming close to winning the league championship last season, falling short by only five points, Ogunmodede is optimistic about the upcoming season. He aims to start strong and once again challenge for the league title with Remo Stars.
