Report: Arsenal want to sign Kudus In January

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is gearing up for a significant move in the upcoming January transfer window. Over the last two seasons, the Gunners have been fierce competitors for the Premier League title, giving Manchester City a tough run for their money.

Arteta deserves accolades for transforming Arsenal into one of Europe’s top sides while enhancing their defensive organization.

Last summer, the signings of Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino were intended to challenge City’s supremacy. However, a major issue for Arsenal has been their struggle to find a clinical striker, leaving them placed fourth in the Premier League, trailing leaders Liverpool by nine points.

An ex-Arsenal player has urged Arteta to splurge on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, emphasizing the need for a striker with proven quality. In response to these offensive challenges, the Daily Mail reports that Arteta is determined to persuade the club to activate West Ham’s Mohamed Kudus’ £85 million release clause.

Kudus shone in his debut season with the Hammers, netting 18 goals, although he has only scored twice this season. As Arsenal sits fourth in the league and nine points behind Liverpool, Arteta understands the urgency of addressing this issue.

While Kudus commands a hefty price, thoughts are that he would elevate the forward line, becoming Arsenal’s second-best option behind Bukayo Saka, significantly enhancing Arteta’s attacking choices.
