Result: Kyle Edmund beats Andy Murray to take exhibition title
Kyle Edmund got the better of his Davis Cup-winning teammate Andy Murray to lift the Tiebreak Tens title at the Royal Albert Hall yesterday evening.
Edmund, 20, reached the last two thanks to victories over both David Ferrer and Xavier Malisse, while world number two Murray overcame Tim Henman in the semi-finals.
However, despite being 100 places below the two-time Grand Slam champion in the rankings, Edmund won through 10-7. “I’m very happy.
I knew I had to play very well to have a chance. For me to play with all these guys that I’ve grown up watching and been so successful has been amazing,” he said during his post-match interview.
The title was the fourth that Edmund has won this year, having also triumphed in Hong Kong, the USA and Argentina.
