Revealed: Victor Osimhen contract details as he becomes Africa’s most expensive footballer
Victor Osimhen has become Africa’s most expensive footballer after joining Napoli from Lille for a reported fee of €81.3m (74m) including bonuses.
This is contrary to the earlier reports by most outlets stating the fee paid for Victor Osimhen as €50m (£38m).
According to reports from France, L’Équipe to be precise, the Nigerian has now beaten the transfer record set by Ivorian winger, Nicolas Pepe who joined Arsenal from Lille for a fee of £72m last season.
Victor Osimhen who earned €80k a week in France will now earn between €4m to €5.5m a year excluding bonuses, while Lille would receive €71.2m plus €10.1m in guaranteed bonuses from Napoli.
Napoli attempted reducing the total money by including players in the deal but Lille rejected the player exchange offer and negotiated for the full €81.3m.
Charleroi, Victor Osimhen’s former club will also received around €7m as part of the sell-on percentage clause the included in the deal that took him from Belgian to France last season.
