Rinsola Babajide scores consolation goal in Tenerife’s 1-4 loss to Real Madrid
Super Falcons star Rinsola Babajide found the back of the net for Costa Adeje Tenerife, scoring a penalty in their 1-4 defeat against Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino.
Babajide’s goal came in the 35th minute, converting a spot-kick after Linda Caicedo conceded a penalty. This marked the first goal Real Madrid had conceded all season.
Despite Babajide’s effort, Real Madrid had already taken control of the match with two early goals from Caroline Moller and Caicedo.
Moller added a third before halftime, and Filippa Angeldal sealed the victory for Madrid with a fourth goal in the second half. Babajide and Tenerife will look to bounce back in their next match against Real Betis on October 8, 2024.
