Rivers Hoopers drawn In Kalahari Conference for 2024 Basketball Africa League season
Six-time Nigeria Premier Basketball League champions, Rivers Hoopers, have been drawn to play in the Kalahari Conference for the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) season.
In a statement released by the BAL on Friday, the KingsMen will face FUS Rabat of Morocco, Egypt’s Al Ittihad, and Stade Malien of Mali between 5th and 13th April at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco.
Hoopers will play their first match against Stade Malien at 4pm GMT.
The 2025 BAL season will see teams divided into three groups, with four teams in each group.
Each group will play a 12-game round-robin phase, where each team will face the other three teams twice.
The top two teams from each group, plus the two best third-placed teams across all groups, will move on to the playoffs.
The eight teams that qualify will then play four seeding games, followed by an eight-game, single-elimination playoff and finals from 6th to 14th June at the Sunbet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
This will be Rivers Hoopers’ third appearance in the Basketball Africa League, having competed in the inaugural season in 2021 and last season, where they finished third.
