Rivers Hoopers Secure Final Eight Spot in Nigeria Premier Basketball League
Defending champions Rivers Hoopers have advanced to the final eight of the 2024 Nigeria Premier Basketball League after a 94-50 win over Ebun Comets on Wednesday.
The 2024 BAL bronze medalists now have four wins from seven games and easily handled Comets to secure their spot in the next stage.
Head coach Ogoh Odaudu rotated 10 players during the game, giving most of his starters a chance to rest. While happy with their qualification, Odaudu says the team is still focused on improving.
“This was our goal from the start, and we’re glad to achieve it,” Odaudu said. “But we’re not done yet. We want to get better, and we’re happy to be in the final eight.”
He added, “We will take each game seriously and try to win them all because there is a reward for every win. We don’t want to miss out on that.”
Rivers Hoopers will play their last three group games against Lagos Legends on Thursday, Kwara Falcons on Friday, and Hoops and Read on Saturday.
