Rivers Hoopers set for Chief of Defence Staff Independence Basketball Championship

2023 Nigeria Premier Basketball League champions, Rivers Hoopers, have arrived in Abuja to compete in the Chief of Defence Staff Independence Basketball Championship.

The Hoopers have been placed in Group C, where they will face Gboko City Chiefs, Gilali, and Bauchi Nets.

This 16-team tournament will start from today Wednesday, October 2nd, to Sunday, October 6, 2024.

According to the organizers, the top two teams from each group will move on to the quarterfinals, with the winners of the semifinals set to battle in the final on Sunday.

The competition serves as a preseason warm-up ahead of the 2024 Nigeria Premier Basketball League, which begins later this month in Benin.

Rivers Hoopers will play their first match against Gboko City Chiefs on Wednesday.
