Rivers, Plateau United handed tough path to CAF Champions League group stages

The Premier League champions Rivers United and runners up Plateau United have been handed tough opponents in the CAF Champions Leagues Preliminary round.

While the first round fixtures looked easy – they face a very tough test in the second round where tougher opponents are waiting.

Rivers United will face Watanga FC of Liberia in the first stages and then play reigning champions Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco in the second and last stages for a place in the group stages.

Plateau United will play AS Stade Mandji of Gabon in the first round and face Esperance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia for a place in the group stages.
