Rivers State Government announce plans to renovate Sport facilities in the State

The Rivers State government has announced plans to improve several stadiums and sports facilities across the state.

Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Barr. Christopher Green, shared that the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Yakubu Gowon Stadium, and Alfred Diette Spiff Sports Complex (Civic Centre) are among the facilities set to be renovated.

Barr. Green said, “The Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium will undergo a major renovation. It will soon host football matches approved by CAF and FIFA, the governing bodies for African and world football.”

He also mentioned that the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and the Alfred Diette Spiff Civic Centre will receive large-scale renovations, as well as the Basketball Stadium and other sports facilities in Rivers State.
