Rivers United FC announce appointment of new coach
Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt has announced the appointment of a new chief coach for the club following vacancy occasioned by Fatai Osho’s resignation.
The new Rivers United FC chief coach is Evans Ogenyi who last worked at Kano Pillars FC In the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League season.
The announcement by Rivers United FC read ” We’re delighted to announce Evans Ogenyi has joined the club as our Chief Coach.
” Ogenyi once managed Warri Wolves, Lobi Stars and most recently Kano Pillars who he guided back to the NPFL, ” the Pride of Rivers wrote on Tuesday August 2, 2023.
In his first comments, the new Rivers United FC chief coach revealed he spoke with the Technical adviser Stanley Eguma before deciding to join the CAF Confederation Cup bound team.
“After speaking with Coach Stanley Eguma, it was a really easy decision to join the coaching set-up here,” Evans said.
“It’s an exciting time to become part of this great team and I’m looking forward to working with everyone more closely on and off the pitch.
“I love this club and it’s such a great feeling to be here.” he concluded.
