Rivers United FC Know CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Opponents
Rivers United FC have known their 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stage opponents following draws conducted on Friday, October 6.
The Draw ceremony took place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Rivers United FC will face Tunisian Club Africain, Dreams FC of Angola and Academica do Lobito of Angola in Group C of the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Pride of Rivers are Nigeria’s sole representatives left in CAF Club competition this season and most reach the knockout stage to keep the countries coefficient intact.
Last season, Rivers United FC reached the quater-final of this competition and will look to progress from the group with the experience from the previous year.
To reach the group stage, Rivers United FC edged Burkina Faso side Etoile Filante 2-0 on aggregate in the second qualifying round.
Coach Stanley Eguma tutored Rivers United FC will have to play their home games in a neutral ground as the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium falls short of requirements for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
