Rivers United, Plateau United record away wins on Matchday 16 of the 2021/2022 NPFL Season.

Former Kano Pillars striker Nyima Nwagua scored the only goal for Rivers United to earn an away win over Kano Pillars in Kaduna. It finished Kano Pillars 0-1 Rivers United.

In Markurdi, Plateau United compounded the woes of Lobi Stars defeating the hosts 0-2. With the win , Plateau United maintain second spot League leaders Rivers United while Lobi Stars struggle at the odd end of the standings.

Akwa United recovered from their 3-0 loss to Plateau United over the weekend to defeat Wikki tourist 2-0 at the Nest of Champions in Uyo.

Nassarawa United had to come from behind to share the spoils with Kwara United in Lafia. It finished Nassarawa United 1-1 Kwara United.

Enyimba international Fc were 2-1 Winners over Remo stars in Aba while Sunshine stars were 3-1 better than Heartland Fc in Akure.

Niger Tornadoes and MFM shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Katsina United ruthlessly dispatched Dakkada Fc 4-1. Gombe United defeated Abia Warriors 1-0 while the late kickoff at the Adokiye Amesiamaka stadium between Shooting stars and Enugu Rangers finished 1-1.

After Matchday 16, Rivers United remain top of the standings with 36 points one point more than second placed Plateau United who have gathered 35points. Remo stars and Akwa United complete the top four level on 26 points.

At the negative end of the standings, MFM retain bottom spot level on 15 points with 19th placed Dakkada Fc. Heartland Fc occupy the final relegation spot with 16 points.

NPFL Matchday 17 action will take place this weekend as the 2021/2022 season approaches the halfway mark.
