Rob Pelinka: David Nwaba earned his spot on Los Angeles Lakers’ roaster

Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka is full of praise for American professional basketball player of Nigerian decent David Nwaba who just joined the NBA franchise.

David Nwaba signed a multiyear contract with Lakers after the expiration of his two 10 day contract with Luke Walton’s side.

In a statement the Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka made to the Los Angeles Times he said, “We have been impressed by David’s focus and determination, especially on defense”.

“He has a mentality about him that is infectious, and he works hard every day to improve himself. He has brought energy to both our Lakers and D-Fenders games, and has certainly earned his spot on the roster.”

Nwaba signed the first two- 10 day contracts with the Lakers on February 28, and the second on March 11. Nwaba averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.4 minutes played.

Before joining the Lakers, Nwaba had gone undrafted out of Cal Poly-San Luis Obsipo and played 39 games (30 starts) with the Lakers Development League affiliate, the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
