Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the reasons behind his stunning move to Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.
The former Manchester United star was unveiled by his new club on Tuesday.
He has revealed how he turned down offers from Europe, America and Portugal to seal a shock move to Saudi Arabia.
“I gave my word for this club,” he said at his unveiling on Tuesday.
“I won everything, I played for the most important clubs in Europe and now it is a new challenge in Asia.”
“As nobody knows, I can say now I had many opportunities in Europe, many clubs in Brazil, Australia, the US, even in Portugal, many clubs tried to sign me,” Ronaldo said at his unveiling.
The 37-year-old said he is aware of how competitive the league is and he is ready to make his debut as soon as possible.
“This contract is unique but I’m a unique player, so for me it’s normal.
“I know the league is very competitive, I saw many games. I hope to play after [Wednesday] if the coach thinks there’s a chance. I’m ready to keep playing football.”
Ronaldo was unveiled in front of 25,000 people at Mrsool Park in Riyadh.
He is expected to make his debut on Thursday against Al-Ta’ee.
