Rooney and Schneiderlin out of Wolfsburg clash
Manchester United have confirmed that Wayne Rooney and Morgan Schneiderlin will miss the final Champions League group stage match against Wolfsburg on Tuesday with injuries.
Louis van Gaal’s side need to beat their German opponents to qualify for the next round of the competition and guarantee top spot in their group.
United captain Rooney missed Saturday’s goalless draw with West Ham United at Old Trafford with an ankle injury, while midfielder Schneiderlin was forced off during the match with a hip problem.
The pair will remain in Manchester while the rest of the squad travel to Germany for the match against the current Group B leaders. United will also be without the injured Ander Herrera, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo at the Volkswagen Arena.
