RS Berkane arrive Nigeria for Bendel Insurance clash
Moroccan club RS Berkane have arrived in Nigeria for their CAF Confederation Cup clash vs Bendel Insurance FC of Benin.
The RS Berkane contingent touched first touched down in Lagos in the afternoon of Thursday September 14 before boarding another flight to Benin City, venue for the CAF Confederation Cup second qualifying round game.
Bendel Insurance FC will host the first leg at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday September 16, 2023.
To reach this round, Insurance FC defeated Algeria’s ASO Chlef on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate result.
The game vs Bendel Insurance FC will be RS Berkane’s first involvement in this years tournament, the Moroccan club was drawn bye for the first round.
The last time RS Berkane came to Nigeria was in 2022, when they defeated Orlando Pirates 5-4 on penalties to be crowned 2021/2022 CAF Confederation Cup winners at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
