RS Berkane crowned Champions of the CAF Confederation Cup. Defeat Wasteful Orlando Pirates 5-4 on penalties.

RS Berkane required a penalty shootout to defeat South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the Final of the CAF Confederation Cup decided today at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium Uyo Nigeria.

A drab 90 minutes of football gave way for a lively 30 minutes of extra time with each time scoring either half for a 1-1 scoreline as Referee Jianny Sikazwe was this time spot on with his timing of the game.

Youssef Alfahli scored from the spot in the first half of extra time. Pirates levelled scores with minutes to the end of extra time to force the game into penalties.

Man of the match Goalkeeper Hamaani Akbi saved one of Pirates spot kicks to complement a 100% conversion by his teammates to seal a 5-4 victory over the Bucs .

The Moroccans have thus won their second CAF Confederation Cup title with the first in 2019/2020.

Orlando Pirates will reflect on the flurry of chances missed with the first coming as early as the 2nd minute of the game when Klabelo Dlamini failed to convert from 6yards . His tame effort went straight into the arms of Hamaani with the goal at his mercy.
