Ruben Amorim Says Man United Will “Suffer” Despite Being Happy With Squad

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said he is happy with his current squad but warned that the team will have to “suffer” during the upcoming season.

The Portuguese coach made the comments after the club signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. When asked about the squad, Amorim said he is pleased with the players available to him but insisted the club must be “careful” when signing new players.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “We need to be really careful when we sign players. If we start the season with this squad, I am happy. We are going to suffer, but that feeling of bonding is really important. The spirit is positive.”

Manchester United are under pressure to improve after a poor 2024/25 season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham. Despite the disappointment, Amorim seems focused on building unity and resilience within the team rather than relying on many new signings.

United will now take part in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States, where they will face West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth. Their performances in these matches could offer fans a glimpse of what to expect in the new season.
