Russell Westbrook becomes NBA top Rebounding Guard

Russell Westbrook added another record to his legendary career this week. With 16 rebounds in the Kings’ win on November 6, 2025, he reached 8,734 career regular-season rebounds, passing Jason Kidd’s 8,725 to become the most prolific rebounding guard in NBA history.

The NBA’s official history account confirmed the milestone on X, noting that no guard has ever collected more rebounds. Westbrook, now 36, finished the night with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists in a performance that reminded fans of his prime.

Years ago, Westbrook said, “At this position, humbly speaking, nobody’s a better rebounder than me.” This season, he has proven those words true. His ability to crash the glass and fight for every board has set him apart from guards throughout NBA history.

Westbrook’s rebounding has always been about effort and instinct. Even against taller players, he finds a way to be in the right place at the right time. Surpassing Kidd adds another chapter to a career already defined by triple-doubles, leadership, and fierce competitiveness.

For a player who built his legacy on energy and willpower, this record is another reminder that his impact goes far beyond scoring.
