Sadiq Umar excited after Valencia debut in Copa del Rey win over CD Eldense
Sadiq Umar was happy to make his debut for Valencia in their 2-0 win over CD Eldense in the Copa del Rey on January 7.
The Nigerian striker, who joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad, came on in the second half but didn’t score. Despite this, his coach, Carlos Corberan, was impressed with his attitude and commitment.
Sadiq said he was excited to play again after a long time without scoring. He expressed his desire to play regularly and help Valencia improve. “We have a young team that wants to learn and improve. We want to get better now,” he said. He also added that the fans can be hopeful about the Cup, and with strong performances like in the Copa del Rey, they could avoid problems in the league.
This win was Valencia’s first in six games across all competitions. They will play their next league match against Sevilla on Saturday.
