Sadiq Umar Joins Valencia on Loan from Real Sociedad
Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar has moved to Valencia on a six-month loan from Real Sociedad, according to reports.
Sadiq has had a tough time at Real Sociedad since joining them for €20 million from Almeria in September 2022. He suffered a serious knee injury in his third game, which kept him out for the whole season. When he returned, he struggled to secure a regular spot in the team.
This season, his situation hasn’t improved, as he has only played 11 matches, mostly coming off the bench. Because of this, there were rumors that he might leave the club.
Now, Valencia has confirmed that they have signed Sadiq on loan for six months, with the option to buy him permanently at the end of the loan. He was officially introduced at the club on Saturday.
With this move, Sadiq becomes the second Nigerian player to play for Valencia, after Sunny, who joined in 2007. Valencia is currently in 19th place in La Liga with 12 points from 19 games.
