Samuel Chukwueze makes Serie A debut in AC Milan defeat of Bologna
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze made his competitive debut for AC Milan in their 0-2 Italian Serie A win over Bologna on Monday August 21.
Chukwueze who was named on the bench for AC Milan’s opening Italian Serie A game of the 2023/2024 season came off the bench to replace fellow debutant Christian Pulisic who had a stunning game.
Pulisic scored Milan’s second goal of the game in the 21st minute. With 17 minutes left on the clock, Rosseneri manager Stephan Pioli decided to take off the former Chelsea FC man for Samuel Chukwueze.
The Super Eagle was effective in helping Milan defend the two goal lead and did not get opportunity to cause problems in attack.
In the match, AC Milan couldn’t have hoped for a better start.
Summer additions Christian Pulisic and Tijjani Reijnders combined, with the letter setting Olivier Giroud up on a silver platter for the opening goal. It took I Rossoneri only 11 minutes to get off the mark in 2023/24.
The traveling support didn’t have to wait long to see their side on the scoresheet again. Pulisic announced himself to Serie A in style.
He picked up the ball at the halfway line and exchanged a one-two with Giroud before unleashing a thunderbolt into the far corner from well outside the box. And like that, Milan were 2-0 up in the 21st minute.
