Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali admits Chelsea can buy back Jeremie Boga this summer
Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali has admitted Chelsea have the option to buy back Jeremie Boga this summer.
Boga left Stamford Bridge and joined Sassuolo in 2018 and has gone on to become an important player for the Serie A side, scoring nine goals in 49 appearances.
But he could return to west London thanks to a buyback clause inserted into the £3.5million deal agreed with Sassuolo in July 2018.
‘Chelsea can redeem him in June,’ Carnevali told Goal.
‘We have a great relationship with the club and we already met them before Christmas – also for other business.
‘We like to have what we have with Barcelona, to have a collaborative relationship.
‘They can take him back but we can also re-sign him, everything is open.’
Frank Lampard is in the market for a winger, too, with Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha at the top of his wishlist.
Boga could present a far cheaper alternative should he fail to land either player
