Saudi Arabian club submit offer for William Troost-Ekong
Saudi Arabian Pro League side Shabab Al-Ahli have made an official bid for Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong as they look to strengthen their defense and improve upon their second-place finish in the 2023/24 season.
Troost-Ekong, who has been a standout performer this year, helped Nigeria secure a second-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. His excellent form has caught the attention of several clubs, including Shabab Al-Ahli.
According to Greek outlet Gazzetta Greece, Shabab Al-Ahli have submitted an offer for the experienced 30-year-old defender. The club is hopeful that their manager, Paulo Sousa, can facilitate the transfer. Sousa, who previously worked with Troost-Ekong at Salernitana before his dismissal in October 2023, is keen to reunite with the defender at Shabab Al-Ahli.
