Saudi King declares holiday after win against Argentina
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulazizn has declared Wednesday, November 22 as a public holiday to celebrate the country’s shocking win against Argentina in Qatar.
Against all odds, the Saudi Arabians came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win against Lionel Messi’s Argentina at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday.
Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the game from the spot kick, Saleh Al-Shehri scored the equalizer and Salem Al Dawsari scored a goal of the tournament contender to hand Saudi the win.
And to celebrate the unexpected victory, a public holiday as been declared in Saudi Arabia.
“By order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, it is directed that tomorrow, Wednesday will be a public holiday in all sectors, private and public including all phases of the educational institutions.”
Saudi Arabians have now put themselves in a good position to qualify from a group that has Mexico, and Poland.
