Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl LX over Patriots

On Sunday, 8 February 2026, the Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, defeating the New England Patriots 29–13 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to secure the franchise’s second NFL championship.

Seattle led throughout the game and kept New England scoreless for the first three quarters. The Seahawks’ defence recorded six sacks and forced multiple turnovers against rookie quarterback Drake Maye.

Running back Kenneth Walker III, who is of Nigerian origin, was named Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 135 yards. Quarterback Sam Darnold completed the game without turnovers and became the first quarterback from the 2018 draft class to win a Super Bowl.

The first touchdown of the game came in the fourth quarter, when tight end AJ Barner hauled in a Darnold pass following a Patriots fumble, making it 19–0 in favour of Seattle. Kicker Jason Myers added five field goals, setting a new Super Bowl record for field goals in a game.

New England briefly responded with a 35-yard touchdown by Mack Hollins, but any comeback hopes were ended by late interceptions from Seattle as the Seahawks closed out the win.

The victory is Seattle’s second Super Bowl title and avenges their loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. The Patriots’ defeat is their sixth Super Bowl loss, the most by any NFL franchise.
