Sikiru Alimi scores two to help Lobi Stars sign off CAF Champions League group stage with home win
Lobi Stars rounded up the group stage of the CAF Champions League with a 2-0 home win over ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire in Enugu today.
Striker Sikiru Alimi bagged a first-half brace for the Nigerian representative.
Lobi Stars thus ended in third place in Group A with seven points from six matches.
ASEC also recorded seven points but had an inferior goals difference.
Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca won the group after a 1-0 home win over closest rivals Mameldo Sundowns of South Africa.
Both teams qualified for the knockout rounds of the competition on 10 points apiece.
