Simeone Praises Julian Alvarez as Atletico Madrid’s Best Player
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has called Julian Alvarez the best player at the club, SportsRation reports.
Simeone made the comments after Alvarez scored a hat-trick to help Atletico beat Rayo Vallecano 3-2 in La Liga on Thursday at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
The 25-year-old striker from Argentina was the star of the match, and Simeone was full of praise for him.
“Julián Álvarez is the best player we have,” said Simeone in his post-match interview, quoted by football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“We need to take care of him and keep him at Atletico for many years. We also have to help him become even better.”
Alvarez joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City in 2024. He will now aim to lead the team again this weekend when Atletico face Real Madrid in the big La Liga derby.
