Sporting Lisbon were crowned as the Portuguese Primeira Liga champions following a 1-0 win over Boavista at the Estadio Jose Alvalade to claim the Portuguese crown with only two games to spare.
Paulinho scored the only goal of the game for Sporting against Chidozie Awaziem’s Boavista as they clinched the title following an impressive dominant season. The side has picked up 82 points from only 32 games this season and are yet to lose a single game in the league this season. They are 8 points clear of second placed FC Porto.
The title is the first for the capital club since 2002 when Mario Jardel led them to the title, ending a 19 year wait for the Portuguese league.
