Steph Curry Gets the Last Laugh with ‘Night Night’ Celebration in Warriors’ Victory Over Mavericks

Earlier this month, the Golden State Warriors suffered a defeat to the Dallas Mavericks, and after the game, Mavericks’ PJ Washington Jr. trolled the Warriors by using Steph Curry’s famous “night night” celebration as he walked off to the locker room. Washington had not played in the game, but still took the chance to imitate Curry’s signature move after the final whistle. He had also used the same celebration in the Mavericks’ win over the Warriors in December.

However, Curry had the perfect chance to get his revenge.

In Sunday’s rematch, Curry and the Warriors were on fire. With the game firmly in their hands, Curry hit a three-pointer over Washington late in the third quarter and immediately pulled out his own “night night” celebration. He not only gave Washington a taste of his own medicine but effectively called an end to the game with that gesture.

After making the shot, Curry didn’t need to play the rest of the game. The Warriors had a commanding lead, and Curry was able to relax and watch his team finish the job in the fourth quarter.

The final score was 126-102 in favour of the Warriors, with Curry finishing with 30 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. The game was never in doubt as Golden State raced to a 33-18 lead in the first quarter and maintained control throughout.

Unless these two teams meet again in the playoffs, this was the last game between them this season.
